Veterinarians
A veterinarian is a person who takes care of animals. There are
many different types of vets. The three most common vets are small animal, large animal, and exotic animal veterinarians. Small animal veterinarians usually work in private clinics, taking care of cats and dogs. Large animal veterinarians take care of farm animals like sheep, cows, pigs, and horses. The third type of veterinarian is an exotic animal veterinarian. Exotic animal veterinarians work on zoos with lions, tigers, monkeys, and llamas. In order to become a veterinarian, one must do well in math and science. Veterinarians are required to earn a doctor of veterinary medicine degree. People interested in becoming a vet should volunteer in an animal shelter for experience. One of the risks for being a veterinarian is that sometimes, dogs and cats might bite or scratch a veterinarian, but it doesn’t happen often. On the other hand, there are many rewards to being a veterinarian such as helping both animals and people. |
