Work Environment
There are many different types of vets who work in different environments. The most common types are small animal, large animal, and exotic veterinarians. Small animal vets work with pets such as birds, ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, and hamsters. They mostly work with cats and dogs in private clinics. Large animal vets usually work on farms or ranches taking care of goats, sheep, cows, pigs, and horses. The third type of veterinarian is an exotic animal veterinarian. Exotic animal vets take care of animals at zoos. They work with animals like lions, tigers, zebras, and sometimes cold-blooded creatures such as snakes and lizards
